Organic Imperial Keemun Tea Loose Leaf 100g

Organic Imperial Keemun

This tea has a thick rich liquor with an orchid like fragrance, the tightly rolled leaves promote a deep rich concentrated flavour.

Qimen County produced only green tea until the mid-1870s. Around that time a young man in the civil service lost his job. Despite being totally heartbroken and completely embarrassed by his shame, he remembered what his father told him - A skill is a better guarantor of a living than precarious officialdom.
Following this advice, the young man packed up his courage and his bags to travel to Fujian Province to learn the secrets of black tea manufacturing. Upon his return to Qimen in 1875 he set up three factories to produce black tea. The black tea method was perfectly suited to the tea leaves produced in this warm moist climate with well-drained sandy soil.
Before long, the superb flavour of Keemun became very popular around the world. Despite its relatively short history (for a Chinese tea!), Keemun became world renown by 1915 and in taste tests conducted by the leading tea companies of the day, was preferred over Darjeeling! 1915 also marked another milestone in Imperial Keemun's storied history - it won gold at the International Exposition in Panama.

When properly stored it will take on a deeper wine and mellow characteristics. Even though in recent years tea connoisseurs have taken more to Assams and Ceylons,Imperial Keemun Mao Feng remains "king of the black teas” and this is one of the best!

Order for loose leaf tea

Excellent tea delivered on time. We were unable to find organic Keemun anywhere else and this tea has a better flavour than Keemun teas from other suppliers.

People you can trust

In these difficult days dealing with a supplier you can trust to give you excellent quality is very important. I still maintain that the tarry lapsang souchong is not very tarry but that's by way of a joke. Well done gang, what about the tea cakes.

Gorgeous tea

The Yunnan Imperial tea from teacakes york is really good quality and comes well packaged. They have a good range of items at good prices. Highly recommended tea and company!

They make my day.

I love this company and I love their tea. I love the packaging and the excitement of a free sample with my order. I am happy when I drink their tea. I find the mobile site a little hard to navigate on my phone but I know what I am looking for so it is fine and the full website works well. My tea arrived promptly and not overpackaged. I highly recommend this company and if I lived in Yorkshire I would work for them.

Delicious Tea

I’ve been buying this tea for some time. It is delicious and very good quality with no dust. The packaging is also good and the customer service, from this company, is what you’d want it to be.
