TeaCakes Own Decaffeinated
A fantastic full taste with wholesome notes of toffee and malt, having a deep and lively rosy colour.
In the South West Corner of the rift valley lies the small but bustling Kericho Town, the pristine tea estate's are the major employer in the area.
Ideally located on the shores of Lake Victoria with its moisture-laden atmosphere, on the hills of the South-Western Mao National Reserve, the tea estates have a unique micro-climate.As the warm air gently rises to the hills the water condenses to mist and the area has high average rainfall resulting in sweet luscious growth, and a crisp flavour.
Here at TeaCakes of Yorkshire, we have the best teas available and we insist the process of removing caffeine is done chemical free. Our teas are briefly soaked in exceptionally pure water and gently flushed with Co2.
The CO2 binds to the caffeine molecules and removes them from the tea leaving behind all the natural proteins that give tea its flavour. It also leaves many of the polyphenols and antioxidants intact so it’s still great for you.
We have tasted many samples for this decaffeinated but the Kericho leaf stands out as the malty flavour is very satisfying, and is a great way to end a meal, but being caffeine free it will not keep you awake at night.
Bright and coppery it really is an outstanding example of how all decaffeinated tea should taste.

My husband and I have gone back to using loose tea and given tea bags the elbow! Only one flaw in this - although black everyday loose tea is available in most shops we have been unable to track down decaf loose tea (with the exception of Earl Grey/Lady Grey which hubby dislikes.) So after a search on the internet I found TeaCakes of Yorkshire and wonder of wonder loose decaffinated tea! We really like this blend and this is the second time we have ordered from you and it’s delicious. Thank you TeaCakes of Yorkshire.
Due to a medical condition we needed to find a decaffeinated breakfast tea. We have sampled many and this is by far our favourite. It is the closest to our previously, everyday, beloved Yorkshire loose leaf caffeinated tea.
I was beginning to think tasty loose decaf was not something that could be bought... until I tried this! It tastes almost like normal tea (doesn't quite have that bite, but is very close) and has a lovely copper colour, honestly it is great and brews very quickly. Already bought another lot as I don't want l run out.
What a joy to find really excellent Decaff LOOSE Tea. Something that we have been wanting for a long time. This product is really good, and tastes so much more like Tea ought to taste. We will certainly be buying this again. Another bonus is that the packaging isn't plastic! Again, something that is important in today's world.
This is great black tea and really does have a great taste.
