Decaffeinated Green Tea Lemon Sendai Loose Leaf Various Sizes

Decaffeinated Green Tea Lemon Sendai
This refreshing and lively tea is based on a Sencha style green tea from Hunan Province in South Eastern China. In Hunan, Sencha is manufactured according to Japanese standards in which the freshly plucked leaves are steamed before processing. Then Blended with Lemon Pieces, Lemongrass, Lime Leaves, Sunflower & Calendula petals.

Here at TeaCakes of Yorkshire, we insist the process of removing caffeine is done chemical-free. Our teas are briefly soaked in exceptionally pure water and gently flushed with CO2, the CO2 binds to the caffeine molecules and removes them from the tea leaving behind all the natural proteins that give tea its flavour. It also leaves many of the polyphenols and antioxidants intact so it’s still great for you.
Our renowned grower has perfected and produced unrivalled quality for decades, having a medium body, balanced astringency and long finish we guarantee nobody will be able to tell this is decaffeinated.
Chinese production of traditionally foreign tea grades:
In recent years, a select number of Chinese manufacturers have begun to produce exceptional examples of tea traditionally associated with other producing regions, most notably Japan, i.e. Sencha. While this may seem counterintuitive, the practice is essentially the same as that of “New World” vineyards growing traditionally “Old World” grape varieties. (Think of Cabernet Sauvignon, a French grape, attaining near-legendary status at the hands of Australian vintners.)
Hunan Province/China
The leaf is pan fried - a process that gives the tea its distinctive glossy looks and feels, then it's expertly blended and flavoured. Like all green teas, Sencha is known to be exceptionally high in antioxidants and polyphenols As such, recent scientific research appears to indicate that it may have an impact in the prevention of certain types of cancers.

When finished, Sencha is known for its dark green, needle shaped leaf and pale green, yellowish liquor lively and refreshing it's amazing iced.
