TeaCakes Own Decaffeinated
A fantastic full taste with wholesome notes of toffee and malt, having a deep and lively rosy colour.
In the South West Corner of the rift valley lies the small but bustling Kericho Town, the pristine tea estate's are the major employer in the area.
Ideally located on the shores of Lake Victoria with its moisture-laden atmosphere, on the hills of the South-Western Mao National Reserve, the tea estates have a unique micro-climate.As the warm air gently rises to the hills the water condenses to mist and the area has high average rainfall resulting in sweet luscious growth, and a crisp flavour.
Here at TeaCakes of Yorkshire, we have the best teas available and we insist the process of removing caffeine is done chemical free. Our teas are briefly soaked in exceptionally pure water and gently flushed with Co2.
The CO2 binds to the caffeine molecules and removes them from the tea leaving behind all the natural proteins that give tea its flavour. It also leaves many of the polyphenols and antioxidants intact so it’s still great for you.
We have tasted many samples for this decaffeinated but the Kericho leaf stands out as the malty flavour is very satisfying, and is a great way to end a meal, but being caffeine free it will not keep you awake at night.
Bright and coppery it really is an outstanding example of how all decaffeinated tea should taste.

I bought three types of decaf tea and their own brand was my favourite. 1 heaped teaspoon gave a really good cuppa for two people.
Solid bold taste.
Brees very quickly great in the morning!
Nothing more to say, lovely tea and a service second to none.
I was looking for more choice of loose teas and in this lockdown it's not easy to find shops open that sell loose teas so I found Teacakes of Yorkshire online. I ordered four types but what swayed me to use them was that they have decaf Earl Grey which I haven't been able to find anywhere else locally. Since lockdown I have been using Clipper decaf teabags but they have no flavour at all so I'm quite relieved that I've got a replacement for it. It all arrived within days of ordering and seems like great quality so thanks very much!
Finally found a great decaf loose leaf. Excellent service too.
